The Origin

Our business began as TrimsNQ — a tree services and chipping operation serving Cairns and the Far North Queensland region. The work was physical, precise, and deeply rooted in the land: arborist services, greenery management, the hum of chippers and the smell of cut timber on a tropical morning.

It was the kind of work that shapes a landscape. And it was built, piece by piece, by a man who understood that relationship between human work and natural place.

The Father

Sam's father was a professional arborist who dedicated his working life to the trees and green spaces of Far North Queensland. For decades, he climbed, pruned, felled, and shaped the landscape of a region he called home. He knew the species by leaf and bark. He understood the soil, the wet season, and the way FNQ grows — relentlessly, abundantly, and always back toward what it was.

"Where he worked the land, we restore it."

He was the kind of tradesman whose knowledge lives in the hands as much as the mind — the sort of expertise that takes a lifetime to build and cannot be easily taught. His passing left a gap in the work and in the family.

The Decision

After the loss, everything changed. Sam chose to honour his father's memory — not by continuing the work of removal, but by doing the opposite: growing, protecting, and restoring the native ecosystems of Far North Queensland.

Steady Eco Land Regeneration was born from that decision. The machinery that once managed greenery — the trucks and chippers of TrimsNQ — now serves a different purpose: enabling the restoration of native vegetation, the control of invasive species, and the regeneration of the land he loved.

Alongside the land regeneration work, the blade sharpening service continues — keeping the arborist industry's tools sharp, as it always has. Two services. One business. One story.

Steady Eco operates from Cairns across the entire Far North Queensland region. We are the only dedicated ecological restoration contractor in FNQ — a region covering some of Australia's most significant natural ecosystems, from tropical rainforest to the wetlands that feed the Great Barrier Reef.

We work with councils, government agencies, landholders, and developers. We are registered with FNQROC, TenderLink, and VendorPanel. We are progressing certification in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. We adhere to the SERA National Standards for Ecological Restoration.
